Il Disegno degli Smussi

Ogni modulo è un quadrato a cui hanno tolto gli angoli.

Quattro volte lo stesso taglio, e dove i moduli si toccano resta un piccolo rombo con una piastra e quattro viti: lì si capisce come sono uniti.

Dentro, i ripiani hanno bordi arrotondati, tacche e frecce incise; in due celle uno si piega a L e chiude un vano a parte.

Sulla base chiara, color cipria, i libri portano le righe: blu, bruno, verde, viola, turchese. Pile di volumi coricate, altri in piedi. Un pianeta con l’anello, un peluche e una piantina in un vaso cubico occupano gli spazi rimasti.

Sui fianchi cambia registro: pannelli scuri, maniglie con anelli rossi, gialli e blu, interruttori, fessure. Più tecnico fuori, più domestico dentro.

Una forma semplice, ripetuta quattro volte, che si riconosce a colpo d’occhio.

The Chamfer Pattern

Each module is a square with its corners taken off.

The same cut, four times over, and where the modules meet a small diamond is left, with a plate and four screws: that’s where you see how they join.

Inside, the shelves have rounded edges, small notches and engraved arrows; in two cells one shelf bends into an L and closes off a compartment of its own.

On the pale, powder-pink base, the books carry the stripes: blue, brown, green, purple, teal. Some stacks lie flat, other books stand upright. A ringed planet, a plush toy and a small plant in a cubic pot fill the remaining spaces.

On the sides the register changes: dark panels, handles with red, yellow and blue rings, switches, slots. More technical outside, more domestic inside.

A simple shape, repeated four times, recognizable at a glance.

El Diseño de los Chaflanes

Cada módulo es un cuadrado al que le han quitado las esquinas.

El mismo corte, cuatro veces, y donde los módulos se tocan queda un pequeño rombo con una placa y cuatro tornillos: ahí se entiende cómo se unen.

Por dentro, las baldas tienen bordes redondeados, pequeñas muescas y flechas grabadas; en dos celdas una balda se dobla en L y cierra un hueco aparte.

Sobre la base clara, de color rosa empolvado, los libros llevan las rayas: azul, marrón, verde, violeta, turquesa. Pilas de libros tumbados, otros de pie. Un planeta con anillo, un peluche y una planta en una maceta cúbica ocupan los espacios que quedan.

En los laterales cambia el registro: paneles oscuros, asas con anillos rojos, amarillos y azules, interruptores, ranuras. Más técnico por fuera, más doméstico por dentro.

Una forma sencilla, repetida cuatro veces, que se reconoce de un vistazo.
